The basic board spec shows it does not have a Serial port. However it does have an Intel Management Engine interface for which the drivers should be here. If you read the driver page it informs that if these drivers are not installed it shows as missing drivers for a Simple Communications controller. This patchset adds the Equinox multi-port serial (SST) driver. Later versions of the board are manufactured and branded by Avocent Corporation. SST boards contain one or more ICP ASICs (intelligent communications processor). There are two ICP types - a 4-channel ICP and a 64-channel ICP.

The Kandy Mobile Modem Driver is used by the Kandy application. This application aids users in the synchronization and management of data stored in the mobile phone with the data stored in the PC. It was developed by KDE.org. KDE (KDE's primary project) is a desktop environment used for UNIX systems. The Kandy application is a part of KDE's personal information manager called KDE Kontact. The KDE Kontact is also a groupware software suite which has support for notes, calendar, email, news and contacts among others. The main applications included in Kontact include Kandy, KDE Address Book, KNotes, KMail and Korganizer. The KDE Address Book organizes all contact information. KNotes is used for the management of reminders and random notes. KMail is the email client while Korganizer is the primary organizer used with KDE. Akregator is an open source feed aggregator that supports Atom and RSS, while KNode is the news client used for KDE. Kandy uses all these other applications for synchronizing data.
